File Manager
The File Manager is the place to go for all of your files and folders activities. Use the File Manager to Upload Files, View Files, Organize Folders and Share Files with others. Here is a typical screenshot of the File Manager.
1. Navigation Pane: The navigation Pane lets you change the view of the other folders. It is divided to 6 main sections.
- My Folders: Where you folders reside.
- My Photo Gallery: Where your Photo Albums reside.
- Published: A Quick view of all of your published Files and Folders.
- Sub-Accounts: List all of the defined sub-accounts.
- My Network: Allows to Collaborate with other registered users.
- Recycle Bin: Deleted files temporarily stored in the Recycle Bin.
2. Toolbar: The Toolbar and the Menu bar allow you to perform common tasks such as uploading files, changing the View, Delete/Cut/Copy/Paste etc.
3. Address Bar: The address bar displays your current folder location. You can change you location by typing a new location. As you type in the address bar, the available location will be displayed.
4. File list: This is where the contents of the selected folder are displayed.
5. Details Pane: Shows the properties of the selected file.
6. The Search Box: Search for files and folders. Search inside your files.

Files View
You can change the way your files look to suit your needs. Four different file views are provided.
- Thumbnails
- Tiles
- Icons
- Details
Files can be sorted and organized alphabetically, by File Size, by File Date Modified and by File Type.

Bulk Uploads
Multiple files can be selected for uploads. Use the Advanced Upload from the Toolbar and select files from different directories on your local drive and upload them all together with one click. No software is required to install.

Note: Folder hierarchy uploads are also possible with WebDAV desktop Connect. Please refer to the WebDAV section for more information.
Play Music and Videos
Double-click on your mp3 files and start streaming your favorite music. Create play list by dragging and dropping your mp3 files to the audio player. No download is required.

Video files can also be played. Supported formats are mp3, asf, avi, wmv, wma, mpg, mov, mp4, m4v, m4b, 3gp, and m4a.

Tagging
Files and Folders can be "tagged" to make them easier and faster to find. Enter a tag name in the Tags Window and save. Tagged items can be viewed by clicking on the Tags tab at the lower left of the File Manager.

Address Book
Address book is used for storing entries called contacts. Each contact entry usually consists of a few standard fields like name and email address. A user can use digitalbucket.net address book to keep track of all the people and organizations they communicate with.

You can define different contact groups and import your contacts from all the major email providers.

File/Folder Publishing
You can share your Files, Folders or Photo Albums publicly using a simple link.

Published folders can be configured to automatically expire in a specific date or to be password protected.
RSS is used to publish frequently updated contents. You can publish a folder or photo album using RSS and it makes possible for the people to keep up to date with the content of the published folders in an automated manner.
File/Folder Sharing and Collaboration
You can share a folder with another digitalbucket.net user to Collaborate on content.

Permissions can be assigned to the Shared Folder. Permissions are "Full Control" or "View/Download". Full Control allows the users to view and modify your files, while View/Download allows the user to view the folder and download files.
Your Collaborators can access your folders under My Network node.

Photo Galleries
Photo Gallery is a Container of all the Photo Albums. Photo Albums are designed to automatically display the pictures stored in the Albums.

You can created unlimited Photo Albums and organize your pictures in your Albums. Photo Albums are not a replacement for folders and non image files cannot be stored the Albums.
You can view your pictures as a full-screen slide show.
Upload By Email
This feature allows users to upload files using their email clients. This feature comes handy when you want to upload your email attachments to your account. Simply forward your emails with attachments to upload@digitalbucket.net and the attachments will be extracted to your account.

Automatic Backups and Sync
Combination of WebDAV and GoodSync software can be used to backup your files to your digitalbucket.net account. It also can be used to synchronize multiple Windows machines with your digitalbucket.net accounts. Please visit the Help Center for more information.

SSL and File Encryption
Digitalbucket.net utilizes some of the most advanced technology for Internet security available today. Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects your information using both server authentication and data encryption, ensuring that your data is safe, secure, and available only to registered Users in your organization.

Searching
The Search box is located at upper left corner. It searches the entire account based on the text that you type. The search is based on the text in the file name and the file content. The content search highlights the words in the document and it also displays where the file is located.

FTP Client
FTP Client is a web based program integrated to your digitalbucket.net account that allows accessing FTP sites. FTP client is perfect for the situations that you want to move your data from you grand daddy FTP site to digitalbucket.net.

WebDAV
Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) enables users of many desktop applications to seamlessly interface those applications with digitalbucket.net online solutions. This will enable all content collaborates in the enterprise to access the full benefits of digitalbucket.net. This feature allows users to access their files right from Windows Explorer, Mac OS X Finder or from Linux.

CNAME
CNAME records allow business customers to map their own sub-domain to their digitalbucket.net sub-domain. For example, it is possible for business customers to allow their internal users to go to http://storage.yourcompanyname.com which will map it to yourcompanyname.digitalbucket.net.

API
Application Programming Interface is designed to be simple, easy to use and will provide access to most of the features of digitalbucket.net. Accessing the API would be through REST (Representational State Transfer) methods.

Creating the Upload Widget is really easy. If you already have a digitalbucket.net account you can create the Upload Widget in a few easy steps and add it to your website. This widget allows your website visitors to upload files to your account.

Update Notification
This feature allows the administrator to setup an email notification when a file in a shared folder gets uploaded or updated. It also allows the admin to specify what sub-account should get the notification email.
White Labeling
Sub-Domain or white labeling is a feature that allows users to brand their landing page and make it appear as it is their own web site. This feature helps customers to deliver their digital contents seamlessly to their associates. Clients can login from this landing page without using digitalbucket.net home page. The sub-domains can be in the form of <yourcompanyname.digitalbucket.net>.

Sub-Accounts
Sub accounts are defined to give customized privileges to all or parts of your digitalbucket.net main account. Sub accounts don't need to be registered digitalbucket.net users to access those folders you've given them permissions.
File Locking
File locking is a way of ensuring the integrity of the files. It allows many users to share a file in a safe way, without overwriting each other's work. If only one user is working on a file, file locking is not needed and there is no need to worry about anybody else changing it. However, when a single file is trying to be changed by two or more users, conflicts can arise, and some sort of file locking is needed.

User’s Activity Reports
On demand reports can be generated to track the activities of your account’s users.
Version Control
Version History feature allows users to maintain a history of a file. If a file previously uploaded to a directory, the new uploaded file with the same name will overwrite itself and become the current version. With Version History, a history of previous file versions will remain intact and you will be able to recall previous versions of the file.

SharePage
SharePage is an HTML page for integrating information, links and files across account boundaries. It is designed to provide a centralize access point for communication between the main account and its sub accounts. SharePage is accessible from the desktop or the Programs Menu and it is only available for business accounts. The HTML page can be created using the online editor or it can be copy and paste from desktop software.
