TSR is a marketing support company specializing in demand generation, telesales, sales management consulting, and business development for companies in the IT industry. We are a relatively small company with no actual office space – all of our employees are home-based and are spread all over the country. Because we had no central network server, we were having a lot of difficulty managing shared corporate documents – anytime someone needed a document, they had to email everyone else to find out who had the latest version then wait for someone to reply. A few years ago, we tried SharePoint, but it ended up being too complex and way more feature-rich than we needed so no one used it. All we really needed was a shared network drive to store our corporate files, but we wanted to avoid the overhead of having to set up a VPN and network server to accomplish this.
Digitalbucket came to the rescue with their simple, economical, streamlined service. Using WebDAV, every employee is able to connect to our digitalbucket space through their Windows Network Places. To the employees, it looks like we have a central network server – they all have folders set up on their desktop that take them directly to the digitalbucket drive. Everything we need is saved to digitalbucket and there's no more wasted time hunting down documents.
Management of our digitalbucket account is fast and easy. Using the digitalbucket interface, we were easily able to add each individual user and set different permissions for each one. Each user only sees the corporate documents they need. And from an end-user perspective, our employees were able to set up their own digitalbucket connections independently by following some very basic instructions that we emailed to them. We literally had the entire company up and running with this within a day or two of signing up.
The service has been very reliable, and any time we have questions or problems, digitalbucket has been very responsive. They are a small, nimble company and as such, are able to respond to support and enhancement requests in an efficient and timely manner.
We compared digitalbucket to other similar services out there, but found that other services were either too pricey, too complicated, or didn't have features we needed. Digitalbucket gives us exactly what we need at a great price.
